Restorative Justice:
The overarching goal of the Restorative Justice approach is to respond to acts of delinquency by youth in the community and allows them to strengthen their connection to community members, build empathy, and create a sense of belonging within the community.
Project Lift:
Restorative Justice program restores person harmed in delinquency matters. This process is driven by community members as an alternative to official court proceedings. It allows the youth, and the person harmed an opportunity develop a plan to hold youth accountable for harm done and restore the person harmed. Project Lift provides extensive specialized service delivery to black males that are justice involved. Executive Director LaToya Logan is a certified trauma therapist, and the program provide services for people who have experienced violence in the community. Target population: youth ages 14 and up, along with the person harmed.
New Community:
Restorative Justice program restores person harmed in delinquency matters. This process is driven by community members as an alternative to official court proceedings. New Community will engage three faith-based institutions to successfully involve community members and stakeholders in the neighborhoods of the Slavic Village, Glenville & the Near West Side. Youth will participate at least once a week for 14-16 weeks. Target population: youth ages 12-18, along with person harmed.
