Public Records Request

The rules for requesting Court records in Ohio are contained in the Ohio Rules of Superintendence 44-47, not the Sunshine Laws in O.R.C. §§ 149.43 et seq. or the Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”). However, the rules are very similar.

Record requests will be provided in a reasonable amount of time, which can vary depending on the type and number of records requested. All records are also reviewed by the Records Custodian in the Legal Department for redaction of any confidential information prior to release, which may take additional time depending on the nature of the record.
